Sarge Ray is the founder and pioneer of Death Battle Writing. After the "Deadliest Warrior" craze died down, Ray discovered the ScrewAttack show "Death Battle" and enjoyed it. In his many outings on the web, he was curious as to why people hadn't done their own fanmade versions of the show. He then took it on himself to do fanmade battles of his own, beginning with "Kratos vs. Guts" and starring his own brother, Steel.
Not much further into his first season, the one known as Lady-N-Gentleman came across his battles and was soon after inspired to do his own. Others would come and go, but one thing was certain. The DB-Writers community was born.
